Designed and printed by Mary Metcalf
Panel size: 15½" x 42" ( .40m x 1.10m)
Click on the zoom image button under 'add to cart' to see the complete panel.
Four different designs are printed on each panel.
Each design is 13" x 9" (33cm x 23cm) plus plenty of room for seam allowances.
Only Red and Rust left.
You may decide to leave the panel as one piece or cut it up into two or four different sized panels.
Using traditonal
Japanese sashiko thread and a
sashiko needle, the stitch is a simple running stitch that you stitch over the printed lines. When you have completed the continuous line stitching you won't see the dashed printed lines (and neither will any one else, they will think you have spent hours stitching ever so carefully!)
Then decide what you would like to make with the panel - a quilt, cushion front, apron pocket, tote bag etc etc.
Lovely to have a touch of kiwiana in your home decor. These designs are loosely based on the Maori kowhaiwhai rafter patterns and are a further development from my
koru templates.
You only need one skein of the
sashiko thread to complete one panel. If using dark thread like the red or the navy blue then I suggest you use a double thread in which case you will need to purchase two skeins.
100% Moda solids quality cotton. Beautiful fabric to stitch through.
